Larry's Canyon; Robber's Roost

About two weeks ago (it feelsl like months) I decided to take a group of ladies down Larry's Canyon near the Maze district of Canyonlands. Mary and Brad met up with us for one more desert jaunt before heading to Jackson, WY. We've been here (in the Tetons) a week now and it is AMAZING. Our cabin is so beautiful and our bedroom window looks right out on Cottonwood creek. We are right below Teewinot mnt. and the wildlife here is crazy-- Bison, Elk, Moose, eagles, hawks, martens, deer etc. We actually watched a HUGE falcon land in our front yard and catch a gopher (a Uinta ground squirrel-- but they are gopher size) in it's talons. Wowzers. We also have wildlife frequenting our house and have managed to catch 8 mice so far. The weather has been warm and sunny lately so almost all the snow is melted around the house and little yellow flowers are popping up. Last night we hiked up Blacktail butte to watch the sunset over the peaks. I've managed to stay busy cleaning like a madwoman-- scrubbing floors and bleaching every log in the cabin. No pictures yet, but I'll post some soon. Here is more of Larry's Canyon:

8 MICE! Oh, my! Maybe you should buy like 15 mice traps and set them up all over...that way, you can wipe out the whole family. Where are they getting in?? That's insane! I'm so jealous of the other animals, though. Your place sounds so gorgeous, as usual.

You should ask Brian about the "Have a Heart" Carnage-all.

Ahh, the mice: seems to be the one constant in park housing. Can't wait to hear more stories!
