Recent Hannah Funnies:
Hannah picked up the Legacy DVD (we had been having a few church movie nights on Sundays) and said in her adorable two-year-old voice, "Look mom! Dee Engineers!" I didn't know that she had ever even heard that word.
Hannah: "I have a baby in my tummy."
Mom: "You do? When's it going to come out?"
Hannah: "in thwee Marches."
Our backyard butts up against a Montana rancher's 4 acre property-- they are only there for about 3 weeks a year and the kids loved playing in the tall grass and catching bugs in the field. There was a small area they could crawl through to get to it. Brian "repaired" it and put fencing across the exit. Hannah was mad when she found out.
She said, "When daddy get home, I gunna say, 'Daddy! Why you do dat? Why you close da fence? Dat make me mad!"
The next day I found her with a butter knife marching into the backyard. When I asked her what she was doing she said, "I gunna slice dat fence dat daddy built! and I say "daddy, you mean! you mean daddy!" She came back in after a few minutes of it not working and she looked so dejected. "it not work, mommy." I know, honey. I know. :)
Hannah loves to tell stories. Here are two favorites:
"Once upon a time, der was a mommy in da forest and a baby in the forest and da mommy picked her up and put her back in da bushes."
"Once upon a time der was an old lady with a be-bo [belly button]" This is her funny story and she laughs really hard after telling this one. So does Liesel.
Hannah's made up silly word: "Dubba-ya" She says it any time she's trying to be funny.
We were at Heidi's house a few days ago and Heidi was watching a friend's three-year-old girl. Rylee and Sophia (the girl) told Hannah she couldn't go into the fort that they had made out of the bottom bunk because she was too little. I saw her storm out of the room and she walked up to me and said, 'Dat girl be bad to me! She be bad to me!" When the girls came out she looked and pointed to both of them and said, "you guys, you be bad to me! Why you do dat?" Needless to say, they let her right into the fort after that confrontation. . . ;) That girl can hold her own.
When trying to flush the toilet at church, she couldn't get it to flush : "I tink its out-a badderies mom"
At the park there were some kids playing she didn't know, "I don't yike kids mom! Dey weird! Kids are weird!"
Hannahisms:
"I'm Beeeee!" or "it's beeee!" means it's cold. I love this and never correct her. Seeing her do the little cold motion by wrapping her pudgy arms with her pudgy hands kills me.
"Cee-Cee"- Liesel's name. She can totally say "Liesel" but chooses to call her Cee-Cee anyway.
Hannah is one-of-a-kind, I can do it myself kind of girl. She is both determined and sensitive, a people person (they love her) and shy (she tells me all the time she doesn't like new people). She doesn't care what other people think, whereas Liesel is people-pleaser and perfectionist. Hannah does a halfway job at quite a few things (drawing/ saying her prayers) etc. She doesn't sweat the small stuff. She likes to pretend to be a kitty cat. She makes me laugh every day and loves it when I start to crack up at something she's said. Hannah is with it. She knows what's going on in a way that is well beyond her years. She's always been like that.
She and Liesel are best friends. Seriously. They fight a lot, but they love each other a lot also. Liesel is so patient with Hannah the majority of the time and Hannah is wiser and wittier than her 2 and 1/2 years which makes for a great friend.
I love my little Bo.

Doesn't that photo just capture the two girls' personalities? So cute. I can picture Hannah coming back in from the fence all dejected from not being able to undo Daddy's mend job. And I love that she is assertive. She'll do just fine in this world. Go Hannah!
