Searched and then Rescued

So last night was our first real SAR here. . . and Brian was right in the mix of it all. His boss was away at training with another LE and so it was just him and one other LE to organize it. A 72 year old man got lost while hiking near here. He was able to get cell phone reception and called 911, which connected him with us and then the call was handed to Brian. They originally thought he was in the MAZE district, but finally Bry was able to find out that he was lost at ISKY (our district). They set up the operation, sent out four search teams and finally located him as the sun was setting. He was only wearing sandles, shorts and a thin T-shirt and weather was getting a bit crazy-- strong winds, rain and lightning and dropping temp. Brian got home at about 9:45pm to find out that there was another search at Arches National Park. Luckily (I guess I would say luckily, Bry on the other hand, would probably say "unfortunately")they found him before he got called over.

Meanwhile, I worked at the visitor's center, made a tuna loaf and did dishes. Ah, the wonderful roles of the sexes.

Angela, you can always go "hiking" in the general area where the search is going on and just might "accidentally" find the missing person, right?? =) Just kidding. Congrads to Brian for the rescue!

Congratulations on your rescue, Brian! How exciting! I bet it's a little surreal to be "doing" the job that you've been planning on doing all these year. Very exciting! And glad you're having a little fun on the side, Ang :)
