This post is a tribute

to the greatest running mix ever created. With spring in the air and my new running shoes on the way I am so psyched to get out and play! But I haven't actually created the greatest running mix of all time. I have granted myself $15 in I-tunes to buy these rockin' tunes and so far the only thing I've got is "Single Ladies (put a ring on it)" because who can't help jive to a little Beyonce?

Suggestions?

Some of my favorites to run to are:
The Traveling Song--will.i.am
anything by Smashmouth
Buddy Holly--Weezer
She's a Rebel--Green Day (a lot of other good stuff by them)
Viva la Vida--Coldplay
This Too Shall Pass and Here it Goes Again--OK Go
Hey Ya--OutKast
Mostly anything with a good beat and words, the words distract me from thinking. Hope that helps!

HAHAHAHA! This post is killing me because Beyoncé has the most ridiculous music on the planet, and yet, I love listening to it (I've never admitted that to anyone until now). Matt and I used to sit in the car before his mission listening to Irreplaceable just laughing our heads off. Single Ladies is a great running song. One of my favorites for running is "All these things that I've done" by the Killers. And as long as we're venturing into the realm of music I'm embarrassed to say I listen to: I gotta feeling - Black Eyed Peas, Live Like We're Dying - Kris Allen, and Dancing With Myself - Billy Idol. Too bad there are too many cars around Provo for me to run with music. And too bad the 1/2 was full. I ran 9.3 on Saturday, so I think I could have done it. Okay, I win longest comment ever. Uh, see ya...

PS Is this post referring to Jack Black, or am I out of my mind?

Angela I love Lady Gaga. I love the beat to her music so most of my running mix on my ipod is hers. I also love the new Train songs, "Hey Soul Sister". Since you had a Beyonce songs, I'll tell you I also love her "sweet dreams". Good luck putting the mix together. Perhaps you'll have to post your play list when you're done so I can get some suggestions!

Empire State of Mind
Miss Independent (Ne Yo)
Heartless
Energy
Whatever you Like (Weird Al is cleaner than the rap version, and its hilarious)
Party in the USA (miley Cirus)
Ooh Ahh (Grits)
Like A Boy
single ladies
White and Nerdy (Weird Al is cleaner than real version..again)

Tell me what you think home's.

My songs might rock a bit too hard and old school.

Hmm...I'm actually a big fan of running without external music. Then again, you probably get enough silence out there to merit some good music. I think my fave song to run to is the one by the Shins...I don't even remember the name of it, but it's happy and makes you feel light as a feather. Um, yeah.
